Adecco is the world's leading workforce solutions company, offering temporary staffing, permanent placement and outsourcing across all sectors. The largest and perhaps most recognisable 'Adecco Group' brand, Adecco has a striking red brand palette which helps their offices stand out on high streets across the globe.

Back in my university days I spent two incredible summers, placed in every conceivable workplace at the request of Adecco. I found my way to building sites, warehouses, glass factories and call centres. Together with my good pal Graham, we became archetypal white van men and undertook, for the first time, real jobs.

We cut bricks, dug holes, packed goods and set up workstations in vast call centres. We rarely found an address on time, took our pay packets in good faith and hoped the nice lady from Adecco would find us another gig at the end of each assignment.

Some 15 years later, I came to the digital transformation project with an acute appreciation of how digital could vastly improve the experience for both employers and candidates.

With the Adecco app candidates can use their phone to search thousands of available jobs. Once enrolled they can manage interviews and assignments, track progress, be notified of key appointments and use the app to navigate their way to an interview.

Once hired they can manage day-to-day activities; check-in to an assignment, manage timesheets and availability, find salary details, manage documents and lots more.

We worked closely with the team at Adecco to make this app as helpful as it could be for candidates and in doing so created an exemplar case study which could be scaled across other buinesses within the group.


We defined the early customer experience vision, designed, then user tested numerous high fidelity prototypes. Throughout the project we pushed and challenged the brand direction, but only to carve out the best possible user experience from the technology available. We hosted countless workshops with key stakeholders across the business and once designed, managed and oversaw the build with the offshore development team.

We continue to evolve the app to this day and have successfully refined the experience based on user and business feedback. With careful branding consideration Adecco are successfully rolling out the experience to other brands within the group.
